A Nature Inspired Focus for Your Kitchen Cabinet Colour Palette
As technology advances, the urge to escape the fast paced workday and reconnect with nature strengthens.
This is evident with both new home builds, as well as renovations, which now include massive windows and fluid spaces that lead to outdoor areas; all in the desire to be one with nature.
As a result, the colour palette in all aspects of home décor are focused on soothing hues from nature that allow us to bring the outdoors in.
When developing our colour palette for 2020, we made certain that our finishes were inspired by nature as well. For example, we took our inspiration from rugged mountain terrain, lapping ocean waves and even dawn’s early light.
Together these colours create an organic finish palette that celebrates the calming healing powers of nature. This post both looks at, as well as celebrates the hues included in this natural colour palette. Let’s take a look.
The Nordic finish is truly all in the eye of the beholder. For instance, in a bright setting, Nordic offers a cool white option.
However, when used in a space with moodier lighting, Nordic’s grey undertone is more pronounced. This versatile finish offers softness that can easily be paired with both warm stains and saturated paints.
With the recent resurgence of the colour beige, last year we introduced the Daybreak finish into our thermofoil collection. Daybreak is a modern take on beige with grey undertones, otherwise known as “greige”.
To meet this trending demand, we are excited to announce that Daybreak has now been expanded into the extensive Kitchen Craft paint collection.
We are also happy to announce that Starless has been added to our paint collection! Rich blues like this are continuing to trend as their saturated colour serves as an excellent neutral.
In addition, now that three toned kitchens are trending, we are seeing blue, white and wood as a popular kitchen cabinet colour palette.
The Star of Our Show: Stillwater
From cobalt to navy, we know that the colour blue is still going strong. So much so that we are now seeing an array of blues trending, in particular the light and airy shades.
Our newest addition, called Stillwater is a very soft watery blue. This serene finish would look equally amazing in the kitchen or in an ensuite bath.
A Kitchen Cabinet Colour that’s Truly Ahead of its Time!
For those who follow colour trends, you know that in the Fall of each year, the major paint manufacturers typically announce their picks for their Colour of the Year.
After we introduced our Stillwater finish for Kitchen Craft Cabinets, the folks at Benjamin Moore revealed that their paint colour, called Aegean Teal, had been chosen to receive this honour for 2021.
When we saw this announcement, just a few short weeks ago, we couldn’t help but think that their 2021 colour of the year looks incredibly similar to our Stillwater finish! Don’t you agree?
Here’s the official Benjamin Moore release video so you can take a closer look and see for yourself. Watch all the way to the end for the big reveal!
