Welcome to our third installment sharing our brand new 2021 finish selection from Kitchen Craft Cabinetry.
Today we have a special treat for you, because this new finish is exclusively available on our Slab Melamine Door Style called Contempra.
As we continually look for ways to incorporate a more natural, tactile feel into our cabinetry designs and door styles, we know that you’ll agree, this one is a real winner!
Introducing…Cypress for Melamine
A great way to bring the outside in is by adding both visual and tactile texture to your cabinetry. Cypress is a beach-washed neutral woodgrain that exudes a very organic and relaxed vibe.
Why Choose Melamine Doors?
Melamine is made up of compressed wood particles encased in a resin and paper finish that is both water resistant and very durable. The outer layer is not only the secret to its longevity, but it also is available in a multitude of colors and even textures, such as wood grains. This has made melamine an incredibly popular choice for cabinetry worldwide for many years.
Here are just a few reasons why choosing melamine doors for your kitchen, bath, or other room project makes a lot of sense:
- Durability – resistant to heat and moisture
- Variety of colours (and textures) – more choice means more flexibility
- Inexpensive – cost is far less per linear foot than solid woods
- Uniform finish – no colour or grain variations throughout a section of wood
These characteristics add up to make Melamine a serious contender to solid wood and MDF for your new Kitchen Craft cabinetry.
Colour Complements for Cypress Melamine
Layering your kitchen designs in both colour and texture instantly adds depth to the space for a warm and welcoming feel.
The new Cypress finish certainly has the texture part covered, so here are a few examples of some additional colours that you can use to complement it within your design.
For example, dividing your kitchen space into stations, each one dedicated to a specific purpose is a great way to incorporate some additional bursts of complementary colour into your design.
Which [grain] direction will the new Cypress finish take you in?
One of the main benefits of choosing a durable melamine finish in a woodgrain pattern is that you get to choose which direction the grain will run on your doors.
Shown below are a few examples with Cypress woodgrain melamine in both the horizontal and vertical grain direction.
Depending upon your own taste, as well as the overall feeling you want to evoke with your new Kitchen Craft cabinets, will help you determine whether one is more suited to your design than the other.
As we have said, there are many reasons for choosing a melamine finish such as our new Cypress woodgrain. Luckily for you, incorporating it into your new kitchen design is as easy as speaking with one of our experienced Kitchen Craft Designers, who will dedicate their efforts towards giving you a gorgeous finished room.
